Mabank ISD broke ground in August 2025 on a new campus for third and fourth grade, funded by the district's 2024 bond.

Mabank goes back to 1846, when Lorenzo D. Stover settled the area. The town got its name in 1900, when the railroad came through and two landowners, G. W. Mason and Thomas Eubank, laid out a new townsite and put their names together. Mabank was incorporated in 1911.

The town changed for good after Cedar Creek Lake was finished in 1965. Today Mabank sits on the north end of the lake with a downtown square on Market Street full of local shops, plus everyday stores out on South 3rd Street.

The big event every year is Western Week and the Mabank Rodeo in June, with a parade through town and rodeo nights at the arena.

Friday nights in the fall mean Mabank Panthers football at Panther Stadium on West Mason Street. The Mabank Rodeo every June is the other big crowd of the year. For pro sports, the Dallas teams are about an hour away up US-175.
